  "Karasu" (a piece of Hayashi) (u-law,170KB) and Jinku calling (u-law,260KB) from Gion Matsuri feast in Yoshinuma

  Jinku is sung for Mikoshi parade calling in Gion Matsuri of Yoshinuma. The piece "Karasu" from Yoshinuma Gion Bayashi is a popular Matsuri Bayashi piece in Variations of Hayashi musics distributed around Shimotsuma city and Sashima town. [Description]

  Hayashi music played in Karima Gion Matsuri feast. The Hayashi lasts about 300 years. [Description]

  "Godan Bayashi" (u-law,170KB) from Tanaka Bayashi

  The group of Tanaka Bayashi player is one of the most active Hayashi groups in Tsukuba. The piece "Godan Bayashi" is a suite of five traditional Tanaka Bayashi pieces. [Japanese description]

  "Kochigo-mai" (u-law, 240KB) "Ryujin-mai" (u-law, 240KB) from Ryujin-mai Kagura dance of Kanamura-Betsurai Jinja shrine

  Kagura music pieces played for spring/autumn grand festival of Kanamura-Betsurai Jinja. The first motive "Kochigo-mai" is a lilic music with dance by little girls. The third motive "Ryujin-mai" is a dance of a god of thnder with rolling of a drum like storm. [Description]

• Ishioka Bayashi and its variations [Description]

  "Shimba (fox dance)" (u-law,160KB)

  Most complex piece of Ishioka Bayashi sets. Played in traditional festivals is Ishioka city and Yasato town and around.

  "Nimba (Hyottoko farmer dance)" (u-law,160KB)

  This rythmical music has many variations around Ishioka city.

  "Shichome (Okame lady dance)" (u-law,170KB)

  This slowly played piece is also popular around Ishioka city and Tsuchiura city.

  "Shishimai (lion dance)" in Ishioka (u-law,170KB)

  "Shishimai" heard in Iwama town (u-law,170KB)

  "Shishimai" in Tsuchiura (u-law,240KB)

  A 20kg big Shishi lion dance is the unique point of traditional Matsuri in Ishioka and Tsuchiura. There are slight variations in Hayashi musics for lion dance.

  "Sangiri" of Ishioka (u-law,170KB)

  "Sangiri" is a special piece played only for the beggining and ending of an event.

  "Sangiri" of Katano, Yasato town (u-law,250KB)

  Thie piece is recorded at the very moment of the ending of Katano Gion Matsuri. You can hear clappings and callings cerebrating the ending of the whole event.

  You can hear the calling as "Osshai Osshai Osshai-na". A calling for float parade in Ishioka.

• Hayashi in Tanaka, Tsuchiura city (Female calling, Male calling) (u-law,170KB)

  You can enjoy various Hayashi musics of various Hayashi families in Tsuchiura. The calling of Hayashi of Tanaka is one of most impressive ones. [Description]

• "Nimba" of Shinkawa Bayashi (u-law,170KB)

  Shinkawa Bayashi is played in Johoku-machi in Tsuchiura city. The origin of the music is old Hyottoko dance in Kimishima in Ami town.

• Amagoi Bayashi (u-law,170KB) and firiring of KarakasaMando (u-law,170KB) in Karakasa Mando Matsuri in Nihari villege

  Amagoi Bayashi is played as a back ground music for firing Karakasa Mando firework. Its the very moment of Karakasa Mando Matsuri. [Description]

• "Yamanokami" (u-law, 210KB) from Jakamokojan (Kagura) of Kakioka

  There are three Kagura lasting in Yasato town and popular as "Jakamokojan". This piece is for the last of twelve dances. The drumming is rythmical. [Japanese description]

• "Isobe" (u-law,200KB) from Osugi Amba Bayashi

  Amba Bayashi of Osugi Jinja shrine in Sakuragawa villege is famous around northern Kanto area. We can find many variations around Ibaraki prefecture. [Description]

• "Bakabayashi" (u-law,170KB) of Sawara Bayashi

  The most famous piece from 50 of Sawara Bayashi pieces, one of three greatest Hayashi in Japan. "Bakabayashi" is played only in exciting phase of the festival such as ending of parade. [Description]

• Kanda Bayashi (u-law,170KB) in Iwai city

  This hayashi is believed as an origin of Kanda Bayashi in Tokyo. Variations are spreading around Tsuchiura city and western part of Tsukuba city. [Japanese description]

• Song for Shishi-mai parade in Gion of Mitsukaido city (u-law,170KB)

  In Gion festival of Mitsukaido city, we can enjoy Mikoshi parade, Hyottoko dance on floats and Shishi-mai dance. Shishi lion dog held by several young people run around with this song. [Japanese description]
