The head of thousands of Kashima-jinja shrines in Japan.There are about hundred festivals/ceremonies in a year.
- Events:
- 1st, Jan.: Ceremony of new year's first morning (0:00-, ceremony starts at 6:00)
- 3rd, Jan.: Ceremony of new year (10:00-).
- 7th, Jan.: "Oume matsuri," ceremonial running of a white horse (18:00-).
- Setsubun: Setsubun festival, ceremony at 16:00 and 18:00
- 9th, Mar.: Saito-sai
- Quite old style parade of 150-300 people (13:00-16:00)
- Song of Saito-bayashi by Hokugo group and by Nango group (u-law, 220k)
- The verse is too oldfor modern japanese to recognize.

- After the parade there are some ceremonies at the shrine building.
- 1st, May: Yabusame archery, Otaue rice plantting ceremony
- second sunday of May: Demonstration of Bujutsu
- 30th, Jun.: Ooharai prayer for health
- The last day of June (lunatic): Nagoshi-harai prayer for health
- 1st of Sep.: Jinko-sai anniversary festival
- Mikoshi parade, 5 floats with Kashima-bayashi music (is same as Sawara bayashi), lantern festival.
- 10:00 Mikoshi parade starts.
- 16:00-21:00 Chochin-matsuri lantern parade.
- After the parade the lanterns are burned.
- 10:00-22:00 Parade of floats, at 15:00 demonstration of floats.
- 20:00 Ceremony of Mikoshi at the gate of the shrine.
- 2nd, Sep: Kanko-sai (Returning mikoshi parade)
- 16:00 Demonstration of floats
- 2nd, Sep. (once in every 12 years): Mifune-sai parede of ships
- 17th, Oct.: Jingu-sai
- 3rd, Nov.: Sumo festival
- 23rd, Nov.: Autumun festival
- 31st, Dec: New years eve
